About AudStudio

Teachers never stop learning. We are taught a teaching method and system, but most teachers adapt and grow these techniques over the years.
AudStudio is the brainchild of many years of teaching experience.
I learned French as an adult and this reminded me of the reason for learning a language – to communicate. Much of the French I had learned at school was useless. On top of that, I couldn’t understand native speakers. The frustration was intollerable.
Joseph had the advantage of being raised bilingually and quickly added Spanish as a third and then chose to study Mandarin at university as well, developing a deep understanding of how languages work and their challenges.
This site is a resource for you to learn English and avoid these problems.
The content here is:
1: Relevant to REAL life
2: Written and audio – no more struggling to check if you have heard correctly you can simply check with the transcript.
3: Adapted to our busy schedules. The  audios are different lengths to suit your available time.
In addition we have dealt with the ‘tricky’ areas as well. You will find video explanations of common problems.
I will be constantly updating this site and adapting it to make it as useful and valuable as possible.
At school student are taught a second language – but in a totally different way to how their learn their mother tongue. There are many problems with the way that  languages are taught at school and this site is all about filling in the gaps that every student should have been taught as well as offering a resource for those either learning through self study or from scratch.
We have several goals:
Goal 1
Get everyone listening! We learn our first language by listening and repeating. Grammar and a huge vocabulary are completely useless in conversation if you can’t understand what the other person is saying. Listening, listening and more listening!
Goal 2
Students should learn words and phrases that they actually want to use. “The mouse is under the table” or “the rabbit is brown” are not very helpful for most people.
Goal 3
Our students are going to be confident enough to speak – because I believe in them and we know that with a little bit of work and a lot of listening you can ALL do this!
