People talk about burn out and usually, it is associated with long hours at the office and no holidays, but isn’t that usual student life? Or the life of people studying? Certainly, there are plenty of students who are combining the two lives, working long hours and studying long hours. Or even three lives, as a parent, worker and student. So how do you know if you are suffering from burnout? This is a hard question but let’s look at some common symptoms.
Common signs of study burnout are achieving less in your studies and caring but not being able to do more. Students know that they need to do more and increase their motivation, but instead, they find themselves constantly distracted and focussing becomes harder and harder.
Some people believe that burnout comes from procrastination and having too many unfinished tasks. This suggests that it is the student’s fault that they have burnout, which doesn’t seem fair to us at AudStudio. We do not think that it is your fault. We do however believe that having unfinished goals and tasks can cause students to lose concentration and lead to unnecessary stress. We can help you to set manageable and sensible study goals, which you can finish.
Let’s start by working out why we even need study goals. Without goals, you can’t monitor our progress, and that means that we don’t know when to stop and take a break. Break! Perhaps you think that a study plan is about studying and not about stopping, well, you are wrong. Stopping is when we do the processing when we file what we know. Your breaks are as important as your study hours.
How do we help you with these? We have designed our whole audio listening program to fit neatly into your life.
You can browse the different categories and find the one you find the most interesting. The lessons are made up of short audios which are broken down into individual sentences or ideas for your to practice. So you may be wondering how does this control your study burnout? Simple, the lessons are short. You can always complete them. If you are limited for time you can go to one you have already studied and skip to the end and just do the whole audio as a revision. Audios should be listened to multiple times, the more times the better, so you are still learning, but you are not pressurizing yourself.
How else can we help you with your study burnout? At AudStudio we understand that you are learning a language so that you can communicate, so we want you to come and communicate with us. Seriously, come and chat on Facebook and practice. This will help to keep your study burnout at bay because you will be seeing how much you have learnt and from there you will stay motivated because nothing motivates like success!
