When I was going through teacher training this was not considered essential for most students, as a result, it was not given a huge amount of time on the course and consequently, there are many teachers out there who feel intimidated by it. This is a real loss for students.
I have taught this countless times, even to very advanced speakers and they always gain from it. Understanding this chart combined with the vowel sound pronunciation chart opens up the language to a whole new level of understanding.
Sadly due to a death in the family, I have not recently had time to create as much content for this site as I would like – but I can see that the membership is growing daily so I promise that as soon as I have ploughed through the funeral and connected administrative paperwork I will increase the weekly content for the site. One of my first projects will be to create a course on these pronunciation charts as I believe everyone can gain from them.
